IBEST - the community
Faculty, students and friends participating in IBEST come from the biological, mathematical and computational sciences. We represent a variety of departments and colleges at the University of Idaho with affiliates and colleagues from several other universities world-wide. Our research interests include developing and testing algorithms and techniques for analyzing data from molecular biology, and exploring aspects of evolution in both natural and artificial systems.
The unifying event of IBEST is lunch once a week. These lunches provide members of the IBEST community the opportunity to interact socially as well as scientifically. Mini-meetings at this time allow researchers the opportunity to touch base with their collaborators who are often housed in different parts of the campus. New collaborations are often formed during these lunches. Students and faculty in the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB) degree program are regularly participates in the IBEST lunch meetings. You are invited to join our weekly lunch meetings, spring 2005 calendar (pdf 48K).
