"Evolution Always Wins: Using Evolution to Make Video Games Better"
Happy Birthday Mr. Darwin!
University of Idaho professor Barrie Robison Ph.D. will give a guest presentation at Eastern Washington University (EWU) in celebration of Darwin Day. Dr. Robison is the associate director of the Institute for Bioinformatics and Evolutionary Studies (IBEST) at the U of I, and co-founder of Polymorphic Games (@PolymorphicGameStudio). Polymorphic Games is an evolutionary video game studio located in the Integrated Research and Innovation Center (IRIC) on the UI campus in Moscow. Students in the studio build interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills through the shared creation of commercial video games that model biological evolution. The work has been supported by grants from IBEST, The BEACON Center for the Study of Evolution in Action, the Idaho State Board of Education, and the UI Office of Research and Economic Development’s Vandals Idea Project (VIP).
Dr. Robison’s presentation, "Evolution Always Wins: Using Evolution to Make Video Games Better" will take place on Friday February 16, at 2:00 PM in room 137 of the EWU Science Building in Cheney, WA. The event is sponsored by the EWU Biology Department.
